Format: Smart People Magazine is a professionally produced publication available online and eventually in print.

Online, the magazine will be available to subscribers in two forms:

  1. A full magazine layout in PDF format, readable online or printed out.
  2. A text version to facilitate search. Both PDF and text versions will be archived.
In print, the magazine will be mailed to subscribers worldwide. However, the print version cannot be offered until advertising revenue makes it possible. A higher subscription price will be necessary to cover delivery cost of the print version.

On top of the online and printed editions, the magazine should have a web site with information about the magazine, articles and sample content from the current magazine issue, past content and archive, related blogs and interactive content to allow readers and visitors to interact, discuss and contribute online.

Content: Smart People presents the subject of knowledge from the viewpoint of people, not management, and in connection with activities at home, work and play. Because SP focuses on the use of knowledge in both personal and professional life, it is both a popular and a professional magazine.

Articles are both ‘light’ and ‘heavy,’ ranging from human interest and success stories to ‘how to’s’, case reports and educational features. Regardless of the style of any story, the purpose of every article is to raise the awareness and abilities of readers in a knowledge-driven world.



Pricing: Operational costs are offset by subscription fees and advertising. A large circulation is required to earn the level of advertising rates necessary to support a first-rate publication distributed on a global scale both online and in print.

Subscription fees at start-up will be a nominal $16 annually for online delivery. The advertising rate card will be set based on circulation figures and adjusted periodically. Classified advertising (Smart Jobs) will also priced based on circulation figures.

Special promotions will temporarily reduce or waive some of these fees.
