Smart People Social Network Host

Position description:

Networking. Buzz. Contacts. Links. To achieve its purpose it will need to be ‘more than a magazine’, but rather, the flagship of a network of networks, an aggregator devoted to helping people achieve their highest performances in a world where knowledge matters.

The magazine’s purpose is to bring people with smarts in a knowledge economy together, to know, to learn, to share, to gain perspective, to discover themselves in this new environment, to get the most out of the knowledge phenomenon.

WIIFM: A volunteer Social Network Administrator agrees (and is licensed) to establish or take over an existing Smart People group (in Facebook, Linked-in, MySpace, etc.) as administrator and becomes the face of Smart People magazine in that domain.

There is a payback value exchange for the volunteer. By becoming the face of Smart People magazine in a social network, the volunteer gains a dynamic new channel for developing and expanding his or her own contacts and raising his or her profile.

COLLABORATION: The magazine alone is an awesome undertaking. To be more than a magazine requires the energy of lots more people than the founders can provide. But there are lots more people on the same pathway as Smart People and —together — we can succeed in our mutual goals. And so, we begin.

SCOPE: Smart People Groups are part of a larger network which originally includes Smart People magazine, the Smart People Forum, a Smart People Blog and a Professional Cluster (A network of for-profit and not-for-profit enterprises engaged in work relevant to the mission of Smart People. Through partnerships and collaboration Smart People will produce Smart People Webinars, Smart People Talk Radio and Podcasts. All will be interconnected, providing a flow of people among the Smart People domains as well as beyond, traveling to and through the volunteer’s Smart People Group, personal networks, domains and activities.
