Smart People Magazine: Content

We've had a suggestion that one approach would be to develop the product before the Business and Marketing plans. It wouldn't hurt to start now by developing an overview of content and a Content Page for the first issue. That way our vision would become more tangible.

Based on our current vision statement (see "About" on the homepage), please consider yourself a member of the SP Editorial Board and contribute ideas in these two categories:

Overview (Scope)

Please list general subject areas you think should be covered on a regular basis.

1. How to capitalize on your personal knowledge.
2. Success stories where people used their smarts, networks and technology to accomplish something.
3. Stories of collaboration and online communities. How people of all ages, interests and backgrounds get together from all over the world, discuss topics they care about, share ideas, tips and experience and help each other to learm more and to solve problems. The so-called "wisdom of the crowd"
4. Why employers don't get it. The benefit of human knowledge.
5. How some other employers do get it and how they tap into their employees' collective knowldge, experience and creativity to solve problems, improve quality, save time and push forward innovative ideas
6. The psychology of people - what motivates and drives them, socializing, herding, leading and following. Why some people crave to communicate, share and collaborate while others create barriers and are obsessed with power and control.
7. the basics of collaboration and knowledge sharing theory and practice
8. What is knowledge work. Why do we all knowledge workers today even if we do not recognize it. How do knowledge workers really work and what do they need to boost their work environment, productivity, creativity and work experience
9. The history of knowledge work, sharing, documenting, communicationg and collaborating. From the dawn of humanity to today
